We offer you an awesome ATV / Quad tour that will take you along volcanic craters and into the lava fields!
We ride to Krísuvík peninsula over the mountain Festarfjall and to the black sand beach Selatangar. After a short break here the ATV /Quad tour continues with a part best described as a mountain safari. On the ATV / Quad we’ll be driving between lava fields and black sand up onto the mountain Hagafell. From this mountain you can expect a magnificent view over the Blue Lagoon and the Island of Eldey.
ATV/Quad ride through various lava fields
The ATV / Quad tour path runs through various lava fields and brings us to the old harbor. Currently this is a recreational area with dramatic shipwrecks and the unspoiled and protected remains of over 100 yo harbor-foundations. The ride continues along the coastline taking rocky mountain paths to a lunarscape landscape that will remind you of many Sci-Fi movie scenes. Next up? Two mossy volcanic craters followed by the Black Sand Beach Selatangar (Sealbay). Until 1886 this was a fishing settlement of the Icelandic vikings. The waves of the sea can be vicious. The area also has a fantastic birdlife and it is not unlikely a seal will be popping his head from the waves. While we ride back we’ll have encounters with sheep and Icelandic Horses. If time is in our favor during the ATV / Quad Tour we’ll also head to the summit of our ATV/ Quad trailed Mt. Hagafell for a breathtaking 360’ panoramic view overlooking the area!
