Snaefellsnes Peninsula /West Iceland/ Private Tour by 4×4 jeep
Snaefellsjokull National Park is a national park located at the Saefellsnes Peninsula in West Iceland.
The park is full of ice covered volcanic craters and was mentioned in Jules Verne’s book Journey to the Center of the Earth. Saefellsnes is a magical place, rich in wildlife, including dozens of species of birds and bays teeming with whales and waterfalls.
On this tour, we will stop at Gerduberg, a place famous for its basalt columns. Then we continue our journey to the small village Arnarstapi and the ancient fishing village Hellnar. We will take a look at the black sand beach “Djupalonssandur” and some volcanic craters, lava fields, the Saefellsjökull Glacier and the iconic mountain Kirkjufell with the well known waterfall on the opposite side. We will also visit beautiful cliffs and small lighthouses.
We can also visit a lava cave in Vatnshellir. The cave itself is an 8000 year old lava tube created by volcanic eruption from a nearby crater in the Purkhólar crater family.
You will see more views beacause we stop more often than large bus
