On our Private Luxury Golden Circle and South Coast Combo Tour, you will explore Iceland's most popular tourist destinations in one day.

For those who only have a limited amount of time in Iceland, this tour is a great option as combined in this tour are two of the most popular itineraries in Iceland. You will see some of Iceland's most magnificent sights while riding in the luxury of our jeep.

Nesjavallaleið is a gorgeous scenic route that winds through Iceland's mountains, volcano craters, and the country's largest natural lake. We will pick you up from your hotel early morning and begin the tour by driving along the route. (Nesjavallaleið is closed in the winter and in case of extreme weather. We will take a different route if this is the case).

The Popular Golden Circle Route.

We'll visit Thingvellir National Park, where you can witness the gap between the European and North American tectonic plates. Game of Thrones used the park as a location for some of its shots. We will spend some time exploring the area and we will also visit the stunning Oxarafoss waterfall.

Our next stop is the famous Geysir hot spring area, where Strokkur geyser erupts around every 8 to 10 minutes. Here you will have time to explore and take pictures of the hot springs before heading to Gullfoss, the golden waterfall, where you can feel the power of Icelandic nature. We next make our way to Iceland's oldest and most stunning natural pool: the Secret Lagoon. Entrance to the lagoon is optional and not included but can be added at the time of booking. Please note we only stop at the lagoon during the spring and summer months (April to September). After soaking in the Secret Lagoon's geothermal hot springs, we'll proceed to the Icelandic South Coast.

As we drive on the famous Ring Road we will be getting closer to one of Iceland's most active volcanoes, Hekla, known in the Middle Ages as the “gateway to hell”. We will have a quick lunch stop at Katla Restaurant in the Lava Centre, where we can observe the monitoring of active volcanic systems, earthquake activity, and surface movements in Iceland.

The Magnificent Icelandic South Coast

We will visit two breathtaking waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. Make sure you bring a raincoat as you will have a chance to walk behind Seljalandsfoss and you will get wet. Skogafoss waterfall is a legendary attraction for its massive cascade dropping from a 60m cliff. On a sunny day, you can see rainbows over the waterfall, making the waterfall a spectacular scene.

From the Ring Road, another Icelandic volcano is visible: the infamous Eyjafjallajökull which erupted in 2010 affecting air traffic all over Europe. You will have the chance to appreciate the silvery glacier on one side of the road and the other side is the extensive southern coastal line to the horizon.

Our next stop will be Solheimajokull. Here we will walk for about 10-15 minutes to the edge of the glacier tongue and we will admire its spectacular blue, black and white ice. Because of its vicinity to volcanos in the area, the eruptions that happened over the years contributed to the black layered appearance of Solheimajökull glacier.

Then we will continue to Dyrhólaey promontory and Reynisfjara black sand beach to admire the extensive coastal lines of Iceland from higher up, and the black sand beaches, sea stacks, and basalt columns. In summer, there are puffin colonies near Dyrhólaey cliffs and you might even spot them.

If you take a tour in the winter (September-March) we will stop and try to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights before getting back to Reykjavik, weather permitting.
