One of the things you need to know about Iceland is the fact there are no railway services. When you visit Iceland there are just a few means of transport: walking, cycling, renting a car or travel by bus.  Going by yourself around the island by car sounds appealing but the weather in Iceland can be quite unpredictable and a lot hidden gems are difficult to find. Traveling by bus brings you to all the highlights but can also show you other amazing places. Our tours are operated in comfortable buses with experienced English speaking Icelandic guides. All tours include pick up/drop off services from/to the hotel. We do our best to give your customers everything they need for a great experience during their stay in Iceland.

The service of Iceland Premium Tours goes further as we also offer the opportunity to arrange custom made tour-experiences. From 1-day private tours (e.g. glacier lagoon, Thorsmork) to a roundtrip around the island by car or bus including hotel bookings and excursions.

To make the most out of a visit to Iceland we would like to propose a selection of tour packages which include the best bus trips to experience Iceland. Every tour package has a day off to give the customer the opportunity to also discover Reykjavík and/or visit the Blue Lagoon for a moment of relaxation.

When it comes to our advice we’re proud to say we’re different. We offer something a little more special.

Why to choose a Private Tour in Iceland

Winter in Iceland     View All Our Trips Iceland is safe country and it is easy to get around on your own exploring the most famous areas of the country. However, if you want to have a more special experience, see different places and learn more about the culture, guided tours are a great option, especially private tours. You can choose day trips or longer private tours; a great time is guaranteed. 1. Private Tours in Iceland can be customized. When you book a private tour, your personal guide/driver will decide a unique itinerary with and for you, based on what you are interested in and what you want to see in Iceland, which is very often different than what you would visit on a preset tour. 2. Private tours in Iceland take you to special places. Iceland is now a very popular destination so if you take a bus tour you will end up going to the same places most tourists go...if you want to get off [...]

Winter in Iceland

Winter in Iceland     View All Our Trips Winters in Iceland are not as cold as you might think, temperatures are usually  between -10° and 5°C thanks to the Gulf Stream. Of course, the strong winds will make you feel colder but, with the right clothes, winter is a great season to visit Iceland. If you come to Iceland between November and February, you should expect both snow, ice, storms and sometimes beautiful cold sunny days. Driving around Iceland in the winter can be a challenge if you are not used to driving on icy roads so I would suggest taking tours where expert guides will take care of everything and you will just have to enjoy yourself and the beautiful nature. Another thing to keep in mind if you are visiting Iceland in the winter is that there are a lot of hours of darkness. There are only 4 to 5 hours of effective daylight in the middle of winter, which might sound a bit depressing but I swear there are some pretty good reasons to come to Iceland in the winter and I [...]

An exciting trip to the LAVA Centre

Lava Center     View All Our Trips Winter is coming to Iceland and very often we have what Icelanders call “window weather”: cold , an often windy,  sunny weather that looks nice through the window if you are inside, but it is not so nice to be outside in. The weather was like this in Southern Iceland a few days ago, the perfect day for a nice drive, so I decided to go on a day trip from Reykjavik to visit one of Iceland's newest attractions, the LAVA Volcano and Earthquake Centre, an interactive exhibition on Iceland's volcanoes and geology. I had heard nice things about the LAVA Centre before but I honestly did not think a visit there could be so interesting and fun at the same time. Located in Hvolsvöllur, just off the Ring Road and in close proximity to some of Iceland's famous volcanoes like Eyjafjallajökull, Katla and Hekla, the LAVA Centre is a great day trip from Reykjavik or a stop you can add to your tour while exploring the South coast [...]

6 Reasons to come chase the Northern Lights in Iceland

Northern Lights Private Tour View All Our Trips The Northern Lights are a spectacular show of nature that lightens up the northern skies during dark nights. The season to see the Northern Lights in Iceland is from the end of August to mid April and although it requires certain weather conditions and quite a bit of luck, seeing the Northern Lights is an amazing experience that will leave you breathless in front of nature's power and beauty, especially if you have never seen them before. But why should you waste your time out in the cold, looking up in the air hoping for some lights to show up, instead of enjoying a night out in downtown Reykjavik or just rest after a long day of exploration? Well, I believe chasing the Northern Lights is something you should do if you come to Iceland and I will give you 6 reasons for that.     1. They are magical.  As I said before, once you find yourself looking up at a dark sky that lights up with green, red [...]

5 Golden Circle Detours

Golden Circle   View All Our Trips   One of the tours you will certainly want to take when you are in Iceland is the Golden Circle Tour. Not far from the capital, easy to get to, with beautiful natural wonders to explore, the Golden Circle is by right one of the most popular destinations in Iceland. If you want to see something more than the usual Thingvellir National Park, Geysir and Gullfoss, there are many other locations that are not seen on regular Golden Circle bus tours and, with a private tour, you can combine the main sights with the less popular ones for a great experience. Here is my list of the top five detours I recommend if you want to see something different but still beautiful and interesting in the Golden Circle Area.   The  Kerið crater.   The Kerið crater.   Some regular Golden Circle tours stop here, but it often depends on the guides and timing. If you are taking a private tour, you should definitely ask your driver to take [...]

5 Reasons to visit the Golden Circle

Golden Circle   View All Our Trips If you are planning your trip to Iceland and you are checking the internet for what to see and do, a Golden Circle tour is surely one of the first things you will read about and there is a reason for that: the Golden Circle is one of the most popular and beautiful destinations in Iceland and you really should not miss it, no matter how long your stay in Iceland is. Iceland is a small country with stunning nature and a lot of amazing places to see and I know from experience it can be hard to decide where to go and which tour to take during your vacation so if you are not sure if you will take a Golden Circle Tour or not here are my 5 good reasons why you should not give it a miss.     1) You can take the tour in every season, and it is always amazing! On the Golden Circle, you will find some of Iceland’s most famous and [...]

7 places you must visit on Westman Islands

Westman Islands View All Our Trips The Westman Islands   The extraordinary Westman Islands form a group of fifteen islands located approximately 10km off the south coast of Iceland. Famous for its puffin population which attracts countless visitors every year, the islands are of great historical and geological importance and have been drawing attention since the year 870 when the Westmen, who were a group of rebellious Irish slaves, sought refuge there after they’d murdered their master Hjörleifur Hróðmarsson. They consequently became the island’s first inhabitants and are the people the islands are named after. When Hjörleifur's foster brother, Ingólfur Arnarson (the first Icelandic settler), heard of the treachery he hunted them down and slaughtered them all. The Westman Islands has a modest population of around 4,500 people, many of whom work in the prosperous fishing industry - the community boasts a large fleet of fishing vessels. In recent years the area has also become a popular destination for travellers resulting in a growing number of new services, with accommodation and restaurant options and a whole range of new [...]

Glacier Lagoon autumn/winter 2017

Skaftafell   Book your Glacier Lagoon Tour The Glacier Lagoon   Known as Jökulsárlón in Icelandic, the Glacier Lagoon this is one the country's most iconic attraction. Famously framed in the background by the impressive Vatnajökull Icecap, the lagoon features an ever-changing canvas of icebergs freshly carved from the serrated edge of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier tongue. They float gently and silently in the fresh blue water, but every now and then the scene is interrupted with an almighty crash as the bergs collapse and collide. If you stay long enough, you see them get caught in the stream of the natural river, taken under the bridge and delivered into the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean.   Skaftafell     Now part of extensive Vatnajökull National Park, Skaftafell is a masterpiece of nature, illuminated by the frozen white glacial heights of Vatnajökull, and darkened to the depths by the Skeiðarársandur plains –  vast stretches of black sandy wasteland and volcanic debris borne from volcanic eruptions underneath the icecap. In the middle lies the Skaftafell plateau, a dynamic feast for [...]
