Our Private Reykjanes and Northern Lights Tour with optional Blue Lagoon and Lava Tunnel is the perfect tour for those who want to know more about Iceland's geology and volcanic nature. On this private jeep tour, you will be amazed by various types of Icelandic landscapes from black sand deserts, basalt cliffs, geothermal waters, volcanoes, colorful lava caves, and, with some luck, you will get to see the Northern Lights dancing in the skies.
We pick you up from your accommodation in Reykjavik with our comfortable 4x4 jeep and head south to visit the fantastic Raufarhólshellir lava cave, one of the most beautiful lava caves in Iceland. (Note that entrance tickets to the lava tunnel are not included and must be purchased in advance).
At the tunnel, you will take a guided tour (1 hour) with a local guide that will share with you all the knowledge about the various lava formations, how lava caves are created, and the different types of minerals that can be found there. You will also have enough time to take breath-taking photographs of the cave's spectacular and colorful lava formations.
The next stop on this Private Reykjanes and Northern Lights Tour is the Reykjanes Geopark, one of Iceland’s geological gems where tectonic movements are always present. The main attractions of the Reykjanes Geopark are the beautiful Kleifarvatn and Grænavatn lakes, and the colorful and steamy geothermal hills of Seltún.
We also stop in Gunnuhver geothermal area and visit one of the oldest lighthouses in Iceland - Reykjanesviti. We then drive to the Bridge Between Two Continents through which you can walk over the fissure between the North American and the European tectonic plates which are moving apart.
After all the sightseeing, our Private Reykjanes and Northern Lights Jeep Tour takes you to one of the most popular attractions in Iceland, the Blue Lagoon. Here you have some time to take pictures and, if you wish, you can enter the pool. Please note tickets to access the Blue Lagoon must be booked in advance and are not included in the price of the tour.
We then try our luck and hunt for the amazing Northern Lights.
